ISEurope 2011ISEurope-Integrated Systems Europe, Europe’s largest fair on audio-visual industry has ended with great success in Amsterdam, Netherlands on February 4, 2010, which has drawn increased number of exhibitors as compared with 2009 despite of global economic recession. Furthermore, 84 pct booth reservation for 2011 edition of the fair clearly indicates that the fair has now become a compulsory exhibition that industry professionals should not miss. The next fair is to take place at Amsterdam on February 1-3, 2011, for which Korean companies are urged to contact IPR for advance reservation.

International Beauty ExpoInternational Beauty Expo, the 4th Malaysian fair on cosmetics and medicine, will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on May 22-25, 2010. The fair is composed of five distinct zones—beauty/cosmetics, spa/wellbeing, health, weight control, hair/nail, thus making the meetings between exhibitors and buyers more productive and efficient. As the fair is relatively inaccessible to general public, exhibitors can have more down-to-earth sales meetings with professional buyers. Seoul Industry and Trade Promotion Center and Daegu chapter of KITA have ended booth reservation necessary for country pavilion and now receive application from private companies wishing to participate in the fair.

Malaysia Medical Tourism fairMalaysia Medical Tourism fair where tourism, medical service and health control technology can be seen all in one place is due to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 13-14, 2010. Medical tourism industry in Asia, estimated to be approximately U$ 4.4 billion, is anticipated to expand due to population growth and aging society, creating diverse demand and market. For instance, foreign traveler patients in Korean hospitals have remarkably increased lately, revealing a new avenue of high revenue industry in the future. More international and systematic marketing strategy are required to seize the good opportunity under the new phenomenon of combination of tourism and medical service.

Fispal Food Service 2010Fispal Food Service, the largest platform for food and related technology in Central and South America, will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 7-10, 2010, attracting 1,400 exhibitors from 13 countries and 66,000 buyers from around the world. Two additional fairs, Food Technologia for food machinery and equipment and TechnoLactea & Sorvetes for dairy products are to be held in parallel with the fair, thus naming the fair period as ?International Food Week ? Food industry in Brazil, the largest country in South America, accounts for 15 pct of the country's economy, and particularly the organic food industry continues to grow at the annual rate of 30-50 pct.

IPR Group, the professional international marketing company, has recently signed an agreement with Emap, a world famous media company based in England for mutual cooperation in the future in the field of exhibition industry. The cooperation will mostly be concentrated in two exhibitions, i.e. RWM, recycling and environmental fair and Interbuild series with many years' history. Now that environment industry draws more and more attention as future growth area all over the world, central and regional governments of U.K. is increasing their investment in ecology industry. RWM 2010, scheduled to be held in Birmingham on September 14-16, 2010 is one of promising fairs in the industry with its size expanding every year and focusing on recycling, waste disposal and energy.

CommunicAsia 2010CommunicAsia, Asia's biggest fair on information and communication, is to be held in Singapore on June 15, 2010, for which KOTRA and Seoul Industry and Trade Promotion Center are now recruiting private companies to form group pavilions with 40 booths and 12 booths respectively. Since the application for fair participation is to be closed in early March, interested companies are urged to make haste in filing the application. Another fair on broadcasting technology, BroadcastAsia, will also be held simultaneously where most set-top box manufacturers are expected to participate as usual.

HK Electronics Fair_Spring Edition 2010 Application for exhibitor participation is surging for Hong Kong Electronics Fair, Spring, due to be held at Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center on April 13-16, 2010. The fair will encompass the whole spectrum of electronics industry from audio-visual instruments and technology, household electronic appliances to automobile embedded systems, electronic games, office automation, attracting over 50,000 buyers from around the world. Many world famous brands such as Hyundai, Daewoo International, Haier and Coby will be housed at the Hall of Fame pavilion while Solar Photovoltaic Energy Pavilion and Far Infrared Rays Technology pavilion will be revealed, reflecting the latest industry trend.

CWMTE 2010CWMTE 2010, the largest machinery exhibition in West China, will be held in Chungching on May 27-30, in which 600 exhibitors and 50,000 buyers from all over the world have visited last year, braving the global economic downturn. The 11th version of the fair, jointly organized with Hannover Milano Fair Shanghai of Deutsche Messe, will enhance the fair reputation and display more professional products at two divided sections of metal machinery and cutting/measurement/automation. 5-year development project and massive investment of Chinese government in the western China would certainly present an ideal business opportunity for foreign companies.

China Sports Show 2010China Sports Show, the largest sports goods fair in east Asia, will be held at Beijing International Exhibition Center on May 20-23, 2010 where 50,000 buyers from around the world visited last year. The fair is considered to be the most influential platform for many world famous brands where they can get clues and feedback about Chinese market of sports and leisure goods. National Sports Promotion Center plans to form a country pavilion as before together with private companies.

BJITE 2010 BJITE, Beijing toy and toddler education fair, will be held at Beijing International Exhibition Center on May 15-17, 2010 under the organization of China International Trade Center and with endorsement of commerce department of Chinese government. Visitors can have a glimpse on the latest trend of toys and various goods for toddlers education at the heart of the world’s factory, China and also gather latest market information at many events and education seminars to be held at the fairground.

The 20th East China Fair 2010The 20th East China Fair 2010, the largest consumer goods fair in China, will take place at Shangai, the most dynamic and cosmopolitan city in China, on March 1-5, 2010 with endorsement of 9 major cities and provinces, in which 20,000 buyers from 145 countries have visited last year. During the fair period last year, the total amount of transactions reached U$ 3,55 billion, 6.99 pct increase over the previous year. The fairground is divided into four zones—home textiles, clothes, daily consumables, interior decoration, and professional buyers only can enter the fairground with visitor tickets. Jeju island and Chungcheongnam province plan to build country pavilion this year, bringing various health foods and consumable.

HK Gifts & Premium Fair 2010Over 100 Korean companies are expected to participate in Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair 2010, due to be held on April 27-30. Some trade related organizations and regional governments will form country pavilions together with private companies.

Hong Kong Home Textile Fair 2010 8 textile companies located in Daegu city are expected to participate in Hong Kong Home Textile Fair, scheduled to be held in April, next year under the banner of "The Scent of Korea" The first edition of the fair will attract 350 exhibitors from China, India, Taiwan, Korea, etc. and Hong Kong Household Goods Exhibition will be simultaneously held to bring about synergistic effects.

ILDEX Vietnam 2010 Korea Animal Medicine Association will establish a country pavilion at ILDEX Vietnam, a livestock exhibition due to be held on March 25-27, 2010, together with 13 private companies. The fair that is held in a country with unlimited growth potential will cover a wide range of products related with livestock raising including feed and animal medicine. Especially, the association will hold a seminar on success cases of Vietnamese investment, legal aspects of animal medicine and other useful information for the fair participants.

Food&Hotel Asia 2010 Food&HotelAsia2010 (FHA 2010 in short) will be held at Expo Exhibition Center in Singapore from April 20 to 23, 2010. The biennial fair contains 7 professional zones, and various events and seminars will be held during the fair period. aT Center (Agricultural and Fishery Marketing Corporation) will form a country pavilion together with regional governments and private companies. It also held a presentation about the synopsis and general operation of the fair for Korean exhibitors.
◎ Trade mission/conference/seminar ▶
MIDEM 2010 MIDEM 2010, the world’s largest music fair, has been held at Palais de Festival in Cannes, France on January 24-27, 2010 where 4,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and 8,000 buyers from 80 countries have participated. The 44th edition of the fair was the comprehensive marketplace where all musical contents of diverse genre such as classical, pop, jazz, dance and hiphop have been demonstrated and producers, distributors, music publishers and licensing dealers have gathered to be inspired with new market trend. Korean delegates composed of 17 companies and led by Korea Contents Promotion Center and endorsed by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have reaped a successful results, signing transactions amounting U$ 5,500,000. Two music and female dance groups, Epik High and f(x) unveiled an enthusiastic performance under the banner of
"K-Pop Night" at Martinez Hotel in the evening for over 300 fans and visitors. IPR group has played an important role for smooth processing of all procedures of fair participation.
▶ Bucheon city and SME Promotion Center plan to dispatch a trade mission to two relatively unexplored countries, South Africa and Algeria in the middle of April, this year. IPR is now working on mission programs and market analysis in close cooperation with local partners so that the mission can be more productive.
▶ Officers of five prestigious universities in Hong Kong will visit Korea on March 16, 2010 in order to attract Korean high school students, for which they will call on five high schools in capital vicinity and hold presentations for private institutes, parents and teachers. IPR, Korea representative of HKTDC, will do its best to help the visitors in close communication with head office.
